Taste test: Bud Light Lime vs. Miller Chill
For those who prefer Mexican beers with lime squeezed in them, such as the very popular Corona or Dr. Booze’s favorite Dos Equis Special Lager, two recent domestic releases, Bud Light Lime and Miller Chill, are designed to appeal to you. Examiner.com recently did a taste test. The verdict: Bud Light Lime has a stronger lime taste, but Miller Chill is more balanced. Both, said the reviewer, do a good job of integrating the lime taste into the beer. The reviewer thinks Bud Light Lime would complement Mexican food better.
I haven’t had a chance to try Bud Light Lime yet, but I have had a few Miller Chills and enjoyed them very much. If you’re a Mexican lager drinker, they’re worth a try, especially if you pour them into one of our fine pint glasses.
And yes, I realize it’s technically incorrect to refer to Bud Light Lime as a “domestic” beer anymore.
Here in Memphis, the home of the Mid-South Alcoholic Supply World Headquarters, we have a guy named John D who is considered the city’s foremost authority on Bud Light. I’ll try to get a quote from him, giving his thoughts on the new Bud Light Lime, for a followup post.
