No corkscrew? Open a wine bottle with common household tools
Has this ever happened to you? You get ready to pop open a nice bottle of wine to have with dinner or to serve at a party… and then you remember that someone borrowed your corkscrew and never returned it.
Of course, the best solution is to order one of Mid-South Alcoholic Supply’s many fine wine openers… but if you need to serve the wine in 5 minutes, you don’t really have time.
Wired Magazine to the rescue… today they put an article on their how-to wiki explaining how to open a bottle of wine with common household tools. If you have a screw and a hammer, you may be able to improvise to get the cork out.
