Some really stupid people own bars: Man in wheelchair denied third drink

According to this article, a man in a wheelchair was denied a third beer at a bar in Leeds, United Kingdom. Why? Because he was in a motorized wheelchair, and the bar staff was afraid he’d get a drunk-driving arrest for operating his wheelchair on three beers. The man was not planning to drive a car home.

Don’t know how the laws work in the UK, but here in the US he’d certainly have grounds for a nice little lawsuit against the bar.

Here at Mid-South Alcoholic Supply we don’t have a category for wheelchairs with drink holders built into the armrests, but maybe we should add one. I’ll get to work on that…
