New non-alcoholic beverage provides the health benefits of red wine

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

A new beverage has called Embodi has hit the market, claiming to be the first non-alcoholic beverage to provide the health benefits of red wine. According to this Marketwatch article, Embodi’s fruit juice is merged with red wine grape extract. This gives the drinker the full health benefits of two glasses of red wine, with the full range of antioxidants found therein.

However, the article fails to note that Embodi does NOT provide the most important benefit of red wine - getting wasted. So, don’t buy Embodi. Instead, go pick up a few bottles of red and enjoy them in our wine glasses, and if you like red wine as much as I do, you’d better pick up some hangover cures too.

Resveratrol

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

What is resveratrol? It’s an ingredient in red wine, a protein linked to long life in research done on many species. It may be capable of reversing many of the ills that come with old age. Experiments on mice showed that large doses of resveratrol did not necessarily cause mice to live longer, but it did cause them to have a higher quality of life for the number of days they already had. More details can be found in this article.

There ya go… now you have an excuse to power-drink that magnum of red wine. To make the most of your wine-drinking experience, check out our line of corkscrews, stoppers, cellars, racks, and cabinets.
