Which sells more beer, the Super Bowl or Easter?

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

I’m sure many of you are recovering from Super Bowl parties today, as am I… with the copious amounts of beer that showed up at my friends’ party yesterday, I’d be tempted to believe that Super Bowl week is the biggest week of the year for beer sales.  This Tampa Bay Online article, however, proves that I’m wrong.

When you think of Easter, do you think of it as a drinking holiday?  Apparently it is… the article says more beer is sold the week before Easter than the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.

In fact, Super Bowl Week is only 8th on the list of beer-selling holiday weeks… the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Memorial Day top the list.  Father’s Day is fourth, followed by Thanksgiving, the combined Christmas and New Year’s holiday, then Easter.

Next holiday up is Valentine’s Day… don’t forget that Mid-South Alcoholic Supply has plenty of booze-related merchandise that you can give to someone special in your life.

Another Super Bowl drinking game

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Here’s another Super Bowl drinking game for you.  Unlike the one I posted earlier which was very general and could be used with any football game, this one is specific to Super Bowl XLIII, mentioning talking animals in commercials, Plaxico, and John Madden among the many opportunities to drink.

Mid-South Alcoholic Supply has many other drinking games to get you hammered with a quickness - check ‘em out.

Speculation that InBev will cut back on Bud and Bud Light Super Bowl ads

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

People look forward to the Super Bowl not only because it’s the NFL’s championship game, but because championship-quality commercials appear throughout. And perhaps no one is better known for entertaining Super Bowl commercials than Bud and Bud Light. However, this article speculates that InBev, which acquired those brands last week, will but back on Super Bowl advertising for its two new flagship brands. Bud and Bud Light may also have to cut back on local advertising clips on stadium scoreboards, the article notes.

I’ve heard many of my friends say that they refuse to drink Bud and Bud Light anymore. “They’ve sold out,” friends have said. “I guess I’m a Miller drinker from now on.”

Whether you’re loyal to Bud or moving on to a new beer, be sure to enjoy a cold one in one of our many beer mugs.
