Variations on the White Russian
Sunday, December 7th, 2008This New York Times article gives the recipe for a classic White Russian cocktail: 1 oz. coffee liqueur, 1 ounce vodka, and 1 and a half ounces of heavy cream.
However, the article notes that there are variations on this formula. A Dirty White Mother is a White Russian that has had brandy substituted for the vodka. If you also substitute milk for the cream, the drink is known as a Separator.
The book recommends that you mix your White Russian in a cocktail shaker, and pour it into an old fashioned glass, both of which are available from Mid-South Alcoholic Supply.
